  We had a fantastic stay, lovely hosts, beautiful accommodation and they were so helpful. Cannot recommend this place enough.

  The mobile home is spotlessly clean and the added conservatory gives extra space. Our host met us on arrival and was welcoming and quick to respond to questions. They helpfully... read more offered somewhere dry to keep our bikes.
Unfortunately we were there for less than 24 hours due to a factory directly behind the property that in the last few weeks had started running 24 hours a day and there was a constant rumbling sound along with some crashes and lorry noise making sleep very difficult. We felt that we should have been informed of this as our host was aware a few weeks prior to our stay. Our complaint was dealt with swiftly and we were offered a refund to leave but due to short notice could not find alternative accommodation. We asked for a reduction due to this significant issue with the noise but again were only offered a refund to leave by 5 pm that day. We felt we had no choice and left and missed out on a week of our annual holiday. A holiday is far more than the money you pay for it.
If you are prepared to have the factory noise then this is a great mobile home in a good location at a reasonable price but be aware of the issue and the fact it is all day and night.

There... read more were many nice touches such as milk in the fridge, tea bags and biscuits; just what we needed after a long drive up! The fairy lights were a big hit with the children, along with the horses and peacocks wandering around the garden and fields. If you’re a light sleeper and would like a lie in, I’d recommend bringing some earplugs as the accommodation is on a working equestrian centre. It was not an issue for us though and added immensely to the experience of our stay.

Great communication from owners who warned us of some potential noise disturbance which turned out not to be a problem at all.

Lodge is on side of driveway and next to riding school area so there is some noise when lessons/ an event is on as when we were staying, but not unsociable hours. Very muddy around lodge due to very wet weather but conservatory area worked well to leave wet coats, shoes (and dogs!) in before entering main lodge. Nice, relaxed feel and great value for money. Our kids were in heaven. We are used to noisey nights with kids and white noise machines but can honestly say the industrial noise was barely heard and not at all on the weekend and we heard the faint choochoo of a steam train once only 🙂 my parents stayed in a nearby hotel as worried about this but were kept up by road noise whilst we slept peacefully! the place has all the amenities you need and is really comfortable with extra touches like milk, black out blinds etc. Thank you so much 🙂

The accommodation was clean and comfortable with everything... read more you need to survive (dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, garden space etc) and we loved the extra features like the fairy lights in the conservatory ceiling. It would also have been perfect for a longer family holiday. We found it really peaceful having the ponies and peacocks wandering around us outside and our 2 year old found the riding lessons next door very interesting as he had not seen anything like the before. The attached covered porch area doubles the living space and enables access to home amenities. The lodge is fully stocked and ready for a family stay, and there's even an enclosed garden where the kids can play safely and with privacy.
Simon and Jill were great hosts and helped us with anything we needed.
We had a wonderful time overall, and we highly recommend this spot.
