We really enjoyed staying in the lodge as it was comfy, cosy, welcoming and peaceful (all you could hear was peacocks, seagulls, horses). The bedrooms had enough space to store our belongings and the beds were perfect for us. There was plenty of room in the sitting room and conservatory.
I messaged Simon and Jill on the Saturday evening to see if we could extend our check-out time as we didn't feel we would be ready for 10am, after checking with the cleaners we were able to until noon, which we were very grateful for!
We had an very enjoyable stay so much that we didn't want to leave, we could've quite easily stayed for longer! None of us could find a fault with the lodge. Thank you!

It was nice seeing all the animals and my 6 year old cousin really enjoyed seeing the horses. I would say it’s not big enough for more than 2 adults and 2 children, there were 4 adults and 1 child on the second night and there wasn’t enough room for us all. I found it also quite expensive, paying nearly £300 for 2 nights for the size of the place. It was strange too how there were a lot of threat of ‘fines’ for different things, we were happy to strip the beds and leave on time if the book had asked nicely rather than threatening to fine, especially £5 per person. However it was a nice location near our Nan and we did enjoy our stay.

Unfortunately we were there for less than 24 hours due to a factory directly behind the property that in the last few weeks had started running 24 hours a day and there was a constant rumbling sound along with some crashes and lorry noise making sleep very difficult. We felt that we should have been informed of this as our host was aware a few weeks prior to our stay. Our complaint was dealt with swiftly and we were offered a refund to leave but due to short notice could not find alternative accommodation. We asked for a reduction due to this significant issue with the noise but again were only offered a refund to leave by 5 pm that day. We felt we had no choice and left and missed out on a week of our annual holiday. A holiday is far more than the money you pay for it.
If you are prepared to have the factory noise then this is a great mobile home in a good location at a reasonable price but be aware of the issue and the fact it is all day and night.

  We had a great 2 nights stay. The accommodation was much better than we had expected, with lots of extra space via the conservatory and garden. There... read more were many nice touches such as milk in the fridge, tea bags and biscuits; just what we needed after a long drive up! The fairy lights were a big hit with the children, along with the horses and peacocks wandering around the garden and fields. If you’re a light sleeper and would like a lie in, I’d recommend bringing some earplugs as the accommodation is on a working equestrian centre. It was not an issue for us though and added immensely to the experience of our stay.

  Simon is an exceptional host. Nothing is too much trouble . This was the 4th time we visited. Once we can get back to some normality we will be back again .

  We had a wonderful few days here with two little ones under three. We needed somewhere comfortable and safe for grandparents to look after the kids whilst we went... read more to a wedding near by and it surpassed expectations with a safe enclosed garden, playground facilities, horses to see and more... Our kids were in heaven. We are used to noisey nights with kids and white noise machines but can honestly say the industrial noise was barely heard and not at all on the weekend and we heard the faint choochoo of a steam train once only 🙂 my parents stayed in a nearby hotel as worried about this but were kept up by road noise whilst we slept peacefully! the place has all the amenities you need and is really comfortable with extra touches like milk, black out blinds etc. Thank you so much 🙂
